One Group.
One Day. Yours.

Zen Retreat NAMI is a century-old kominka on
the edge of a quiet harbor town
— reimagined as a private retreat for one
group per day.
Nami welcomes each guest herself. Through
Zen, tea, and seasonal healing cuisine,
she offers a stay that tends to both body and
mind.

A single night away from the noise of daily life — spent in a century-old kominka on the edge of the sea.

Upon arrival, Nami prepares a bowl of matcha in the tea room.
That single bowl is where your time at NAMI begins.

The next morning, a private yoga session on the veranda overlooking
the Zen garden. Your instructor shapes the practice
around how you feel that day — no experience necessary.

Zazen and yoga are entirely optional. Sitting on the veranda
with a cup of tea, watching the Zen garden
— that alone may be the greatest luxury of all.

Move. Eat. Be still. Or simply be here. This stay is for returning
to the body you forgot you had.

Three days. Just here. Nothing else.

What that does to the body and mind — how deeply it loosens something
— you won't know until you arrive.

On the first evening, you walk two minutes to Gyokuhouji temple.
A session of zazen steadies the breath
— and that is where NAMI begins. The sound of waves.
A plate of fermented food. Sleep. That alone is enough for the body
to start remembering its own rhythm.

Day two begins with a private yoga session.
After moving, a breakfast of fermented brown rice
— a quiet question the body asks itself.
In the afternoon, those who wish may enter the tea room: watch the tea ceremony,
then prepare a bowl themselves. Something releases in that stillness.

Zazen, yoga, tea — over three days, the three quietly become one.
Guests often say they can't find words for what that feels like.
On the second evening, you step into the kitchen with Nami.
Using vegetables Nami carefully selected from local farmers and markets, you prepare dinner together
— as much or as little as you wish. Then you eat what you made, together.
This is what we call "An evening in the kitchen with Nami."

The stories behind the ingredients. The farmers she trusts.
The way fermented seasonings change everything.
An evening of hands and conversation that no formal dinner can hold.

Come and meet the version of yourself you lost somewhere along the way.

Yoga, zazen, and the tea ceremony are all optional. Three days, entirely at your own pace.

Here, the house is prepared for you alone.
The innkeeper readies the room, selects the scroll, arranges the flowers, and prepares your meal.

The guest rooms, the shoin tea room, the earthen-floor entryway, the Zen garden
— on this day, the entire house belongs to you.

There is no need to adjust to anyone.
There is no need to consider anyone else.
Wake when your body wakes.
Your meals will be served in your time, not ours.
If you wish to talk, I am here.
If you wish for silence, I will leave you to it.
Here, your pace becomes the rhythm of NAMI.

Nothing special is required to come.
Whether this is your first retreat or your first journey alone,
you are welcome as you are.
If you simply feel the need to pause for a while, that is enough.
